Chapters 4-6 Don't Take your life Personally

Oh, and while your at it don't take this book club personally. Maybe you started and thought yup, too

Chapter 4 page 43 Buddha knows Dharma

We learned that the word buddho (Buddha , the awakened) is used as a kind of mantra. The two syllabes , or any two syllable word, is a great way to focus. The two symbols of bud-dho is/can be a kind of an inner chant with a tranquilizer, and the author has used this practice for many years finding it helpful even when his mind is active thinking.

Something like bud-dho, or another mantra, helps to slow down his breath. Now it's not thinking you are the Buddha, and it's not being the buddha, but the idea is that you're trying to attain the single attention.

It is in the awareness you're always reminding yourself to be in the state of attention.

This awareness that which we seek, the dharma, we come to the word, surrender which also gives us the impression of giving up but it also is better to use this word as relaxation . It's this point of letting go: it's just trusting in something that we can objectively hold.

We learn to recognize this intuitive system. We start to get into what the Sanga (community) the sense of group it's in our humanity where we refrain from doing evil we don't just think of ourselves the encouragement is always to help and to share and to be generous there's a commitment to this practice and intention to give up this selfish side, so then we start to come back to the sound of silence. That primordial sound or the cosmic hum or some cosmic Christmas flute~ what brings you a present if you can stay then tell you how emotions are conditioned into us.

Chapter 5 Welcoming everything

This chapter begins to share that now is the opportunity to observe. Not the way it should be but noticing the way it is.

We are beginning to understand that we want to recreate memories of past experiences, or past blissful (Samadhi)experiences, but in this awareness we're not comparing this moment to something else, we're just accepting it, and welcoming it, the way it is meant to be.

We learn about meta- (loving kindness )then we check on the effect of our mind when we start developing this attitude of loving kindness

How does it counterbalance all of our critical tendencies~ everything belongs in this moment because it is here it is like this. The reality of the moment however is because it is here, it belongs.

Metta is the sense of being at home, of allowing, accepting, and being patient with what you don't like.

Learn to welcome grief,we learn to heal rather than ignoring it.

Don't get lost in the reactions but to be patient except them, to welcome even the Darkside of your experience and it takes patience.

Awareness is just noting the wa;y to this , the way your booty is and your mental state. Notice it all-be alert and awake and be open to them.

Everything belongs.

Notice your inner tyrant is a habit. Being awakened allows us to see them.

Our real identity is the attitude of welcoming by loving kindness-then we learn from it, act thiga how they are enet the most horrible things- we let the fear drop away.

Chapter 6 Don't be afraid of trusting yourself

The author wasn't sure if he wanted to come back to teaching but “sharing knowledge”is what he considers what he does.

We have been starting to practice awareness, but the question is what is pure awareness?

Most often we start off seeing ourselves in a critical way. That we shouldn't be the way we are, but that's a perception, and if we start to understand these perceptions influence how we experience what the teacher says.

You are not your body, but we hold on to this form, filling, perception, mental formation and consciousness. ( Five Aggregate)

We have to apply ourselves. Trust yourself in letting go of the thing you can let go of in this present.

He offers an experiment to watch your thoughts.

Once again coming back to trusting your intuition fu;ntcion.

Fear is an aspect in our lives we need to contemplate- this basic emotion and how it affects how we think things “should”be.

Trust more in you and more in the awareness, this is a very intuitive practice. Don't be frightened of trusting yourself. NO one can do it but you!

take the new offer

I was scared of accepting the new role. Move to the shore for a few days a week away from my bff Forrest. I was also scared of not taking it – of passing up the chance to make a impact. But I had to
